Bei dem Namen S.C.U.M wurde ich natürlich erstmal an die Mr. Neutron-Folge von Monty Python’s Flying Circus erinnert:
Mr Neutron: Oh, forget about your husband, Mrs S.C.U.M. – or may I call you Mrs S?
Mrs Scum: You can call me Linda, if you like.
Mr Neutron: No, I’d rather call you Mrs S.
Mrs Scum: Oh…

S.C.U.M ist aber eine Band aus dem Südosten Londons. 2008 wurde die Band gegründet und besteht mittlerweile aus Thomas Cohen (Gesang), Bradley Baker (Maschinen), Samuel Kilcoyne (Keyboards), Huw Webb (Bass) and Melissa Rigby (Drums). Samuel Kilcoyne ist Sohn von Barry 7 (früher bei Add N To (X)) und Erfinder der Underage Club Nights.

Nachdem sie bei Loog Records ihre Debut-Single “Visions Arise” veröffentlichten, folgt am 18. Juli 2011 “Amber Hands”, die erste Single aus ihrem ersten Album “Again Into Eyes”, das im September bei Mute Records erscheinen wird.

Der Titel “Summon The Sound” erschien bereits auf dem Mute-Sampler zum Records-Store-Day und hat mich komplett umgehauen (lief ja auch in indietronic (173)). Ich hoffe nun auf eine  weitere großartige Platte aus dem Hause Mute!

Urlaubszeit = alte-Helden-Zeit! Ende 2010 spielte New Model Army anlässlich des 30. Jahres ihres Bestehens eine Reihe von Jubiläumskonzerten. Pro Stadt spielten sie je 2 Konzerte mit komplett verschiedenen Setlists. Die beiden kompletten Konzerte aus dem Londoner Forum wurden im Mai in einer CD/DVD-Box veröffentlicht. Ein paar Höhepunkte aus dieser Veröffentlichung gibt es in der aktuellen Ausgabe von indietronic zu hören.
